NEW DELHI, July 4 : A website has been launched in Hindi to cater to the needs of those seeking jobs, the website www.rojgarsamachar.gov.in has been launched by Employment News weekly newspaper, which is a unit of the Directorate of Publications Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Dedicating the website to the nation, Veena Jain, Additional Director General (I/c), said it is a matter of pride for Employment News to manage two websites, one in English and now in Hindi. Smt. Jain said, the website exclusively in Hindi will cater to the needs of jobseekers from Hindi speaking areas of the country.
Speaking on the occasion head of Employment News, Additional Director General Shri Ghanshyam Goel said, the website has been developed on popular demand from jobseekers from Hindi speaking areas of the country. Goel said, the website in English, employmentnews.gov.in launched in 2006 has become very popular clocking a daily hit of over four lakh page - hits making it one of the most sought after sites in the country and said that the Hindi website will perform even better.
www.rojgarsamachar.gov.in, the website in Hindi is an interactive site, which will answer questions of jobseekers from specialist career counselors in the segment Q&A. Besides, the site will host detailed information on variety of careers available in the market in the segment "Career ek nazar". In addition the website will carry weekly results of examinations held by the Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Boards and other Central Government organizations.

I-cards to be treated as curfew passes

JAMMU, July 04: - I-Cards of CAPD, PDD, PHE, Health Department, Electronic and Print Media, Information Department, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Government Employees, Nursing Homes, Employees of Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner's Office as well as tickets of people seeking to travel by Air and Train would be treated as curfew pass.
The employees of Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner's Office have been asked to attend their duties.

Over 38.27 lakh pilgrims visit Vaishno Devi

KATRA, July 4: A record number of over 38.27 lakh pilgrims from different parts of the country have visited at the holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi so far since January 1ST this year, this include 55,000 pilgrims who visited during the first three days of the current month.
About 7,000 pilgrims have got yatra parchi for onward journey to the holy cave shrine from the base camp Katra town.
SRTC have arranged special fleet of buses for the convenience of visiting pilgrims and other from here to Railway Station and back.

DM imposes restriction on sale of liquor during bandh

UDHAMPUR, July 4: District Magistrate Udhampur, O.P Kalandria in exercise of powers vested in him under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Svt 1989 have ordered that all shops and establishments selling liquor within the municipal limits of Udhampur city, Ramnagar, Chenani town besides shops located along the National Highway from Tikri to Kud and from village Roun to Domail on Dhar Road would remain closed during the bandh call period from 5 p.m to 10 a.m.
According to an order various reports and inputs received from police and other sources, some mischievous elements especially the youth under the influence of liquor are resorting to violence and pelting stones on vehicular traffic thereby blocking national Highway and Dhar Road during night hours.
This order shall remain in force w.e.f 4.07.2008 for a period of 10 days or till the bandh call ends whichever earlier.

Babu Singh appeals masses to maintain peace, amity

JAMMU, July 4: Minister of State for Power Babu Singh on Friday appealed the general masses to maintain communal harmony, peace and brotherhood which has been its tradition from time immemorial.
The Minister apprised that on the correspondence by SASB Chairman that it would not pursue earlier request for forest land to construct temporary facilities for Amarnath yatries, the government has assured to ensure and protect the requirements and interests of the Amarnath pilgrims.
Babu said that government would discharge all the responsibilities of undertaking the creation of required infrastructure and providing full logistical support for making available various services with a view to fully ensure and facilitate the welfare, safety and security of the pilgrims during the entire yatra.

Div Com reviews supply of essential commodities

JAMMU, July 4: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sudhanshu Pandey on Friday convened a high level meeting to review the supply position of essential commodities to the different areas of province.
During the meeting it was apprised that to provide succor to the common masses suffering shortage of food and LPG adequate stock of ration and LPG would be supplied to all the districts of the region. PHE and PDD were asked to ensure regular supply of drinking water and electricity to the people. CAPD would ply mobile vans for providing eatables like atta, sugar, rice and milk and LPG cylinders.
Pandey said that curfew is being relaxed in the different areas of Jammu so that people facing inconvenience due to shortage of essential supplies are provided relief. It was decided that people can procure the essential commodities from their nearest government depots during the curfew relaxation hours. Besides PHE tankers would also be sent to the curfew relaxation areas especially where the water supply has been affected.
Pandey asked the Heath Department to be fully prepared to meet any kind of emergency and ensure that the different Health institutions function round the clock for providing adequate medicare to the visiting patients. Besides it would also ply ambulances on various routes.

1602 Amarnath pilgrims leave

JAMMU, Jul 4: Despite curfew restrictions in the city and tense situation prevailing in other parts, a fresh batch of 1602 pilgrims today left the base camp here for Amarnath cave shrine of Lord Shiva in South Kashmir.
An official spokesman said that escorted by security personnel, the pilgrims, including 308 women, 33 children and 169 Sadhus proceeded for Baltal and Pahalgam base camps at around 5 AM from Bhagwati Nagar base camp.
The caravan of 50 vehicles included 36 buses and 14 Light Motor Vehicles.
The two-month-long pilgrimage for Amarnath had commenced on June 17.
Since its commencement, the pilgrimage was suspended many times due to heavy rush of pilgrims at Baltal and Pahalgam base camps and bad weather.

Heavy rains lash Jammu region

JAMMU, Jul 4 Jammuites heaved a sigh of relief from the hot and humid weather after heavy rains lashed several parts of the region this morning.
The rains also brought relief for curfew-hit city residents, who were facing unscheduled long power curtailments after the mother Grid Station Gladni was damaged in a fire here on Wednesday night.
Heavy rains lashed almost all the parts of the region, reports here said.
"The downpour in Jammu city was measured 20.5 mm in the morning," Met department said.
Similarly, Katra town of Mata Vaishno Devi and other parts Reasi and Udhampur district received heavy to normal rains.
Meanwhile, 300-kms-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was through for traffic.

2 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Jul 4: Two persons injured in two different road accidents across Jammu.
Police said that a TATA Mobile bearing registration number JK02V-0451 driven by Liaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Din Malik, resident of Ward number 7 Batote on way from Doda to Batote rolled down about 300 feet at Thore National Highway, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Batote.
One person identified as Mohammad Ali, son of Mohammad Qasim, resident of Simna Colony Kishtwar was injured.
The injured was hospitalized.
Meanwhile, an unidentified vehicle hit one Scooter at Sainik Colony, resulting in injuries to the scooterist identified as Vikas. The injured was rushed to GMC Jammu for treatment.

Dozen sustain injuries in assault cases

They were identified as Noor Hussain, son of Hasan Din, resident of Patli Morh, Tariq Hussain, son of Noor Hussain, resident of Patli Morh, Rahul, 20, son of Tarsem Lal, resident of New Plot, Parveen Kumar, Parvachan Kumar and Ravi Kumar, sons of Lal Chand, residents of Patti, Gourav Bali, son of Radhey Ram Bali, resident of Bari Brahmna, Davinder Singh, son of Parshotam Singh, resident of Gurha Bakshi Nagar, Parshotam Lal, son of Chuni Lal, resident of Dhiarayan Kana Chack, Madan Lal, son of Thoru Ram, resident of Bishnah, Bansi Das, son of Anant Ram, resident of Patti Morh and Shakuntla Devi, wife of Madan Lal, resident of Bishnah.
They were admitted to the GMC hospital for treatment.

4 make abortive bids

JAMMU, Jul 4: Four persons made abortive bids on their lives by consuming poisonous substance at different places across Jammu division.
They were Kunti Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar, resident of Udhampur, Manisha Sharma, wife of Santosh Sharma, resident of Domana, Faqir Chand, resident of Village Kharian RS Pura and Parveen Kumari, wife of Ravinder Singh, resident of Shiv Nagar Jammu.
They were admitted to the GMC hospital where doctors provided them necessary treatment.

2 go missing

JAMMU, Jul 4: Two persons including a minor girl has been reportedly missing from their respective residence since last month.
Police said that Noor Hussain, 22, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Kawath has been reportedly missing from June 25, 2008 from his house and Shobu, 14, daughter of Jeva Ram, resident of Village Bindla Tehsil Ramnagar Udhampur was reportedly missing from June 18, 2008.
Police have taken cognizance.

Door to door delivery of Speed Post mails affected

JAMMU, Jul 4: Due to Jammu Bandh and on going curfew in Jammu city, the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Jammu Division asked the people to collect their speed post delivery articles from the National Speed Post Centre located at RMS Bhawan building at Railway Station Jammu.
According to an official handout issued by the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Jammu Division, due to Jammu Bandh and on going curfew in Jammu city it is not possible to affect door to door delivery of Speed Post Mails. He informed the general public to collect their speed posts articles directly from the National Speed Post Center located at RMS Bhawan building at Railway station Jammu during the period of bandh and curfew.
