| J&K Bank Chairman inaugurates 2 Business Units, 4 ATMs in Pulwama | Our operations investment in prosperity of J&K - Parvez Ahmed | | JAMMU, Apr 23 : J&K Bank Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed e-inaugurated two Business Units and three offsite ATMs today amid a huge round of applause at Pulwama in presence of Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Bank’s Executive President Vagesh Chander, and a large gathering of valuable customers, senior citizens, representatives of various trade bodies and local residents.
The bank’s Presidents PK Tickoo, Abdul Rashid Sheigan, Zonal Head Kashmir South I Tasaduq Hussain, Vice-Presidents besides other bank officials also attended the inaugural ceremony in the lush green lawn of Zonal office Kashmir south-I. | | Fuel prices hit 55-month high; Petroleum ministry may approach FinMin for excise duty cut | | | New Delhi, Apr 23 (Agencies) : Petrol and diesel prices touched 55-month high on Monday, renewing calls for a cut in excise duty to ease the burden on consumers. Sources told Zee Media that the government held meeting with chief of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and reviewed daily pricing mechanism for petrol and diesel. The Petroleum ministry is also believed to be evaluating global price trend and the impact of daily pricing of fuel with OMCs.
State-owned oil firms have been revising auto fuel prices daily since June last year. Under the dynamic pricing scheme, petrol and diesel prices are revised on a daily basis in sync with global crude oil prices.

| | 76% Indians want death penalty for child rapists: Survey | | | New Delhi, Apr 23 (Agencies) : A day after President Ram Nath Kovind gave his nod to an ordinance confirming death penalty for those convicted for raping minors, a citizen survey has now shown that nearly 76 percent of the people agree with it. The survey, which was conducted by NGO LocalCircles, saw nearly 18 percent of the respondents voting in favour of life imprisonment without parole for convicted rapists while three percent said that they (child rape convicts) should be given a seven-year jail term (which is the current law).

| | Central Railway to run 10 'Summer Special' trains between Mumbai and Varanasi | | | MUMBAI, Apr 20 (Agencies): The Central Railway has announced that it would run 10 'Summer Special' trains between Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Varanasi from April 24.
News agency ANI reported that the weekly trains would run between the two cities between April 24 and May 23. Passengers can book a seat by paying a special fare. The decision to run these trains comes due to increased demand - especially during the holiday season. "Bookings for summer special trains on special charges leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will commence from 21.4.2018 at all PRS locations and booking can be done also online," a Central Railway spokesperson was quoted as saying.
