NC to Mehbooba: Don’t repent on loss of power
KT NEWS SERVICE
SRINAGAR, July 4: National Conference (NC) has asked People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti to cool down and not to repent much for the loss of power. A press statement issued by NC claimed that Mehbooba Mufti was frustrated and has completely lost her will to fight the situation which has completely trapped her PDP.
NC spokesman said that on one hand Mehbooba was finding her party ministers guilty for facilitating transfer of land to SASB and on the other blaming chief minister for misleading them. He also said that the NC holds both the partners of the erstwhile coalition government equally responsible for the deal, which has destabilized peace all over the state.
Congress role in the deal has been played overtly whereas Mehbooba's party has, as usual contributed to it covertly and on getting exposed PDP tried in vain to shift the responsibility on the other side. The mud-slinging methodology could not come to the rescue of PDP, as people of the state have no obscurity for politics of the party.
The spokesman also added that people have already observed it while Women's Permanent Residents Disqualification Bill was discussed in the state legislature earlier during Mufti regime.
He also said that PDP leadership blaming NC as power hungry is just like kettle calling pot black. "Mufti Syed lost no time in 2002 to jump for alliance with Congress and blackmailed the people's verdict for power having backing of only 15 odd members in the Assembly, laid down power willingly and to the taste of democratic norms. PDP would have been battered just on the next day of NC government formation in 2002, which would have materialized on the basis of simple arithmetic. NC has not been and is not in haste for government formation and the party is hopeful of winning thumping majority in the Assembly elections, not far away," NC spokesman averred.
The spokesman has ridiculed once again PDP for parroting grant of sweeping powers to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. "Had it been so, the governor, as the Chairman of the Board, would not have applied to the state government for transfer of forest land. He would have, on the basis of such powers, fenced the area as per his choice and capacity," he said.
He also added that the PDP, in fact, was addicted to repeating lies thousand times, hoping that the lies would turn into reality someday. "NC dares to fight for the constitutional rights of the people and abandoned power on several occasions while pursuing its autonomy agenda, NC government passed the autonomy resolution in the state legislature to the utter displeasure of the then central government. PDP on the other hand could not bring anything in black and white on its much hyped self-rule slogan, which in fact was aired to weaken NC agenda at the behest of the centre," NC Spokesman added.
