Delhi's Corona surge reverses, Raj tops with new cases

NEW DELHI, Nov 21: As a major sigh relief after the surge of new Coronavirus cases for a few days, Delhi on Saturday recorded a drop of 2285 cases compared to the previous day, though the deaths were still high at 118.
Maharashtra, which recorded a jump in 154 deaths on Friday, recorded another 155 deaths in the past 24 hours while West Bengal remains third in terms of the deaths, with a total of 564 succumbing to the dreaded virus in the past 24 hours in the country.
The Coronavirus is raging in 15 states/Union Territories out of 35, with Rajasthan topping as 755 new cases were reported in 24 hours, followed by Madhya Pradesh 602, Uttar Pradesh 600, Haryana 571, Chhattisgarh 396, Gujarat 373, Punjab 310 and J&K 118.
After an exception of more cases on Friday, it was back to the trend of the recoveries of 49,715 overshooting 46,232 new cases. The recoveries stood at 93.67% with 84.78 lakh discharged out of 90.51 lakh infected while 4.40 lakh are still in hospitals, which is 4.86% of the total cases, while the death toll is 1,32,726.
Total tests in the country crossed 13 crore mark. To be exact, 13.07 crore have undergone tests, 10.66 lakh in the past 24 hours.
Worldwide, 5.79 crore people were infected by the virus, 13.78 lakh of whom died while 4.01 crore recovered. There are still 1.64 crore infected patients, though 1.63 crore or 99% in mild condition an only 10.2 lakh serious or critical.
