NEW DELHI, Dec 1: Ahead of the construction of the grand Ram Mandir, an 80-seater air-conditioned luxury cruise is planned to be launched in Ayodhya to provide a religious tour on the Saryu river to the devotees visiting the holy city.
Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who hails from Gujarat, on Tuesday nicknamed it as "Ramayan Cruise Tour" and held a review meeting for its implementation. He said this would be the first-ever cruise service to give a mesmerising experience to the devotees with one-of-its-kind spiritual journey while cruising through the famous ghats of the holy river Saryu. It will provide a journey of one to one-and-a-half hour, covering approximately 15 km distance.
The fully air-conditioned cruise will have large glass windows to enjoy the scenic beauty of the ghats and it will be equipped with kitchen and pantry facilities for the comfort of the tourists. Fitted with bio-toilets and hybrid engines for the 'zero effect' on the environment, the cruise will have all essential safety and security features at par with the global standard. Its interiors and the boarding point will be based on the theme of Ramcharitmanas of Tulsidas.
The ministry has ordered preparation of a video of 45 minutes, based on the Ramcharitmanas to be played during the travel on the cruise, covering the period from the birth of Lord Ram to is Rajyabhishek (coronation). There will be several selfie points inspired by different episodes in the epic. The tour will end with the Saryu Aarti, in which every member will be able to actively participate.
