Seminary gutted in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Jan 8: A religious seminary in Noorbagh area of central Kashmir's Srinagar district was gutted in massive overnight ablaze, officials said on Friday.
A Dar-ul-Uloom was gutted in a massive blaze that broke out in Noorbagh area of Srinagar, according to news agency KNS.
Officials said that a massive overnight fire broke out in Madrasa Islamiya Arabia Dar-us- Salaam, Baghwanpora Noorbagh area of Srinagar district during the intervening night of Thursday-Friday.
They added the fire engulfed the whole seminary within short span of time, causing panic in the area.
Meanwhile fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames but till belongings of the school had turned into ashes.
Eyewitnesses said that the buidling is fully damaged and belongings worth lakhs destroyed.
A police official said that the cause of fire is not known yet however case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigations set into motion.
