Indian Army organises volleyball match at Dialgam Anantnag

Anantnag, June 27:- Volleyball has traditionally been a popular game of Kashmir Region and is followed passionately by people of all ages. It is a common sight to see the youth playing the game throughout Anantnag District.

In order to provide an opportunity to local youth for showcasing their talent , Indian Army's 19 Rashtriya Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match at Dialgam in District Anantnag.

The event was organised to educate local youth regarding sportsmanship and advantages of games instead of drugs and other alcoholic items and also the contribution of the Indian Army for the people of Kashmir from time to time.

In the event approx 35 local youth had participated and inter village Volleyball Match was organised among youth of Shichan, Watrigam,Wanihama, Kamad, Shelipora,Brienty & PDG.


At the end of the event healthy interactive session was carried out alongwith distribution of prizes to the winners over lunch with a promise to make bond of JAWAN and AWAM more stronger .

The response of locals was overwhelming and the event witnessed active participation of youth.

They appreciated the sincere efforts put in by the security forces to constructively engage the youth of the region and requested that many more such sporting events be organised.
