IED detected on Rajouri-Poonch NH, defused

JAMMU, Jul 31: The government forces defused an IED on the Rajouri-Poonch highway on Saturday.
Official sources said government forces found a three-kg landmine hidden in a milk jug on the Rajouri-Poonch highway between Bathooni and Dalugra, prompting a precautionary stoppage of traffic on the highway.
He said that after the IED was recovered, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called to the spot and it was defused without any damage.
While divulging the details of the incident, a police officer said that a joint team of army and police launched a search operation in the
area after receiving reports of suspicious activities in Buthuni and Dolgara areas.
He said an IED was recovered during the search operation, which was later defused by a bomb disposal team adding that a search operation was still underway in the area and a case had been registered at Rajouri police station.
