Militants hurl grenade at CRPF in Anantnag

SRINAGAR, Oct 2: A civilian was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Karanagar area of Srinagar on Saturday and another was shot at and critically injured, officials said.
According to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an officer said that a civilian identified as Abdur Rehman Guroo, a resident of Galwanteng, Chattabal, Srinagar, was fired from a close range in Karan Nagar “He was shifted to nearby SMHS, where he succumbed,” he said.
Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital Srinagar, Dr Kanwaljeet Singh told KNO that the slain had received three bullets on his chest and one on his face. “He was brought dead to the hospital,” he said.
Later this evening, another civilian was shot at in Batamaloo area of Srinagar by some unknown gunmen.
Reports said that unknown gunmen fired upon a man identified as Mohammad Shafi Dar (45) son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Batamaloo. He has received bullet wound in abdomen. He has been shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be critical, reported news agency.

Meanwhile, suspected militants hurled grenade towards CRPF at KP road area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.
A senior Police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF bunker near Oxford School. In the incident, no loss of life or injury has been reported.
Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
