Big haul of drugs on Punjab border

NEW DELHI, Jan 12: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday seized narcotics and arms in two raids in the Ferozepur sector of Punjab that are suspected to have been smuggled in from Pakistan. The seizures involved 7.4 kg of heroin besides the arms and ammunitions, it said in a press release.

The first seizure involved 6 kilo and 360 grams of heroin, in six packets found wrapped in a yellow envelop which also contained a pistol, one magazine and 50 rounds. In the second seizure, 1.64 grams of heroin was recovered.

Both the recoveries are part of an anti-smuggling drive launched by the BSF on the borders of Punjab with Pakistan.
