‘Harassment by 3 brothers’
Doc’s wife, son forced to stay indoors in Jammu

JAMMU, July 3: A doctor’s wife and her minor son were forced to stay indoors since last 72-hours due to the terror of a dairy farm owner his three sons at Talab Tillo.
Despite the fact that a written complaint has been lodged in Police Post Talab Tillo, Incharge Police Post Rakesh Kumar failed to take any action against culprits who are moving freely in the locality and threatening the woman with dire consequences. Her husband, a Civil Surgeon, posted at Urban Heath Center (UHC) Talab Tillo, is now deployed on Amarnath special duty at Chandanwari and the woman and her son are alone in the house.
The victim Asmat Khan, wife of Dr Zakir Hussain Khan approached KTNS and narrated the horror tale. She alleged that three sons of local dairy farm owner Sat Pal were harassing her and her son. She alongwith her son are forced to stay indoors due to threat to their lives. Putting up in the locality since last 15 years, she alleged that from last six months the trio brothers was harassing the family due to some personal grudge.
“They want us to leave the locality and shift to another place. Fortnight ago, the trio abused my husband over providing passage to the vehicle while passing by the locality. The attacked my husband and damaged the wind screens of my husband’s car. An FIR was registered by my husband in this regard in Police Post Talab Tillo and medical of the injured doctor was conducted at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sarwal. Police called that accused to Police Post where they tender a written apology,” Asmat Khan claimed, adding that three days back on July 1 when the accused came to know about her husband’s posting at Chandanwari, they chased her son who was on way home from tution with an intention to kill him with baseball bats which they were carrying with them.
“My son managed to reach home and he narrated the whole episode to me. I immediately called Incharge Police Post Sub Inspector Rakesh on phone and informed him about the mischief the accused Parmod, Sanjeev and third son of Sat Pal. A written complaint was lodged by me in Police Post but till date no action has been taken by the concerned officer against the culprits,” she alleged, adding that non-cooperation of police forced her to lock herself and her son in the house.
The hapless woman appealed senior police officers to look into the matter and direct the Incharge Police Post to take action against the accused.
However, a senior police officer when contacted said that he was unaware about the incident.
