Kidnapper held, minor girl rescued

JAMMU, July 3: Police claimed to have arrested a kidnapper and rescued a minor girl from his clutches in Ramban district.
Police spokesman said that cops today achieved a success when a police party of Police Station Gool recovered a kidnapped minor girl from Jammu, who was kidnapped from Dalwah, Sangaldan area of district Ramban.
Spokesman said that on May 9, 2012, a case FIR number 20 of 2012 under section 363 and 109 RPC was registered at Police Station Gool regarding the kidnapping of a minor Pinky, 16, (name changed) from Dalwah, Sangaldan area of district Ramban, who was kidnapped by Mohammad Salim, 25, son of Abdul Rashid of Chalid, Reasi on April 28, 2012 during school hours.
A team headed by Inspector Masoof Ahmed Mirza, SHO Police Station Gool was constituted under the close supervision of Anil Magotra, SP Ramban and Deepak Digra DySP (Operations) Gool. The team carried out searches in and around the jurisdiction of district Ramban.
On July 1, 2012 their presence was located in Bari Brahmana, Jammu and Ramban police immediately swung into action and a team headed by SI Mohammad Afzal Wani Incharge Police Post Sangaldan rushed to Jammu and finally the kidnapped girl was recovered from Bari Brahamana.
Both, the accused and kidnapped girl were brought back to Gool. The minor girl was handed over to her parents after completing legal formalities and the accused was arrested.
The investigation into the case is in progress.
