ReT teachers demand release of salaries

DODA, Sep 6: Regularized ReT teachers of Doda district are protesting as their salaries for past six months have not been released.

A protest demonstration was held on Teachers Day under the banner of All J&K RET Teachers Forum (AJKRETT). Protest was led by Forum’s district president Sajad Malik and general secretary, Sarfraz Misgar.

According to a press release issued by Forum, several ReT teachers from various zones of district Doda assembled in front of Chief Education Office, Doda. Protesters marched in the shape of rally from CEO office to District Development Commissioner (DDC) office, Doda. They submitted a memorandum to DDC Mubarak Singh.

Protesters were demanding release of six month pending salaries, regularization of converted ReT teachers w.e.f. June 26, 2008, release of all pending arrears of ReT teachers, provision of SRO-43 in favour of ReT teachers, inclusion of five years rendered services of ReT teachers in their service record for seniority etc.

Wahid Wani, Barkatullah Wani, Majid Ilyas, Naresh Megwan and others spoke on the occasion. Speakers unanimously decided to fight for their rights.
