J&K State Wushu Championship: Divya bags gold

JAMMU, Feb 2: Divya of Jammu won gold medal in below 14kg of Under- 5 years girls age group in the ongoing 9th J&K State Wushu Championship at Multipurpose hall Indoor complex MA Stadium here.

On the second day, the sub junior and junior boys and girls weight categories matches were played. IGP Technical, Owais Ahmad was the chief guest who distributed prizes to the winners in the sub junior categories.

Speaking on the occasion, he complemented the Wushu Association of J&K for the promotion of the Wushu in the every nook and corner of the state and appealed the govt for the encouragement to this sports and other sports as well which are bringing the laurels for the state at national and international level. IGP HK Lohia presented vote of thanks.

The closing ceremony of the championship will be held on tomorrow at 4pm

The details : Girls, 14kg Under- 5 years: Divya (Jmu), Sanah Showkat (Baramulla), Ojwas Wani (Jmu) and Sampadha (Jmu).

20 Kg Under -5 Yrs: Parjanya (Kathua), Jeeya (Jmu), Bhumi (Jmu) and Prayanka Dogra (Jmu).

20 Kg-8 years: Palak Sharma (Jmu), Vandhana (Jmu), Ruksar (Jmu), Pragati (Jmu).

Sub Jr- 40 Kg : Minal Sharma (Rajouri), Neha (Jmu), Sonia (Jmu) and Tanvi Sharma (Udh).

Boys, Sub Jr.32 Kg: Faizan Iqbal (Jmu), Danish (Rajouri), Kanveer (Kathua) and

Badsha (Jmu).

Sub Jr.26 Kg: Arpit (Jmu), Kunal (Jmu), Urooj Nabi (Baramulla) and Ajay Thakur (Jmu).

Sub Jr. 28 Kg: Angreh Wangoo (Jmu), Nitin Singh (Udh), Abhishek Gandhi(Jmu)

and Mannat (Udh).

18 Kg-5 yrs: Jaswinder Singh (Jmu), Raghav (Jmu), Prayanshu (Jmu) and

Himanshu (Jmu).
