Space tourism!
By S Mukhtar
"
"Hello dear."

"Yes, Sir Uncle."

"Ready up for a space trip."

"What…when?"

"Virgin Galactic promises to soon take paying tourists to where very few have gone still - outer space!"

"Who are they? All details, Good Uncle."

"Virgin Galactic (HQ at Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States) is a company owned jointly by an Abu Dhabi investment group and a US billionaire Sir Richard Branson. That company, days only ago, over the Mojave Desert in California, successfully conducted the second test of its supersonic vehicle, named SpaceShipTwo (SS2). The SS2 was driven to an altitude of over 14,000 meters and released there by a carrier aircraft, named WhiteKnightTwo (WK2). And then SS2's own rocket motor was ignited for a 20-second burn and that shot it up to over 21,000 meters above the earth, at a speed of Mach 1.43. An hour-long thrill ride, SS2 then glided gently back down to earth and landed in the Mojave Desert."

"Wonderful, Uncle, indeed!"

"Dear, Virgin Galactic now plans to provide launches for small satellites, for space science missions, and then also spaceflights to space tourists - all that in 2014. Already, stars are signing up to take a ride into space. I wish we too could take a ride!"

"Uncle, you go, I won't go…never."

"O what the headache?"

"No…heartache this is and too much!"

"What?"

"Yes, my heart might fail. They…those politicians…so-called leaders… conquered others' lands…made them hells…left only reluctantly when any hellfire itself was ashamed. They conquered oceans…did them into ever ready war theatres…their bosoms into retreats of hiding war machineries…their deep bases into stores of nuclear igloos. They conquered the air…the deadliest ever battles were fought there or there from…oh the deadliest A-bombs too were dropped there from. Alas those conquests…if only they hadn't been!"

"Please…"

"Uncle, see it that now may be the turn of outer space. Space tourism it may presently be…welcome…congratulations! But soon one day outer space too may be conflict zones breeding space wars. Uncle, I fear the third world war may be fought less here and much more in or from the outer space, and victory and defeat, if at all any victorious remain, may be signed there. The apparent peace seems a cover-up of such an imminent doom. It seems short of only one ignition sometime somewhere…intentional or accidental."

"But dear wish we have a space ride. Leave the rest to God!"

"Forget is the easiest escape."

"Dear, live long, long enough!"
