J&K Bank “A”, Food and Supplies, sail into quarters
14th J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Football -2012

JAMMU, July 8: J&K Bank “A” outplayed DFA Baramulla by 7-0 in the ongoing 14th J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament-2012 tie played today at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
With this, Food and Supplies and Jammu and Kashmir Bank today qualified for the quarterfinals stages of the tournament.
In the first pre-quarterfinal played in the morning session, Food and Supplied defeated District Football Association (DFA) Budgam 7-6 to become first team to reach last eight stages.
Another professional side of J&K Bank also made it to the quarterfinals beating another local side of DFA Baramulla 7-0. Nigerian, playing for the J&K Bank, Pedro struck first hat trick of the tournament adding most of the four goals to the team’s total. Rohit Kumar also played well netting two goals while Aiman scored one goal.
In another scheduled match of the day, the visiting side of Maharashtra blanked DFA Ganderbal 7-0. It was an easy going for the visitors as the local lads of Ganderbal fail to resist the moves throughout the 70-minute game.
The fourth scheduled match of the day between J&K Police-B and Uttrakhand Police was in progress when last reports were filed.
The matches were officiated by Nazir Sofi, Zahoor Ahmad, Farooq Shaheen, Mohammad Yaseen, Koshal Kumar, Muzafar Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad, Mohammad Shafi and Hilal Ahmad.
Those who witnessed the matches were including Rouf-ul-Hassan , IGP Armed/ IRP Kashmir, Org. Secretary of tournament, T. Namgyal DIG Armed Police Kashmir, S. A Hamid DIG IRP Kashmir, Sheikh Mehmood SSP PCR, Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar SSP ACS Telecom witnessed today’s keenly contested matches played at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
Besides members of JKFA S.A. Hameed , Jamir Thakur President JKFA, Fayaz Ahmad Sofi Treasurer JKFA, Prof. B.A. Shah Resident Secretary JKFA Kashmir, were also present on the occasion.
Iqbal Sports V/S Kashmir Mugals on tomorrow at 0900 hours, Punjab Police V/S CRPF at 1500 hours and West Bengal Police V/S DFA Anantnag at 1700 hours at Bakshi Stadium.
