Sakina inaugurates Sports Stadium at Boh

BOH(KULGAM), July 17: Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo today said that the Government is fully committed for the development of the Jammu and Kashmir State The Minister said this after inaugurating a sports Stadium here today. The Stadium is being constructed at a cost of Rs.20 lakhs including Rs. 5 lakhs on protection bund, Rs.10 lakh on earth and GSB filling, while Rs.5 lakhs on the construction of main drain and irrigation channel, on which the construction works is in progress.
The Minister said that ever since the Omar Abdullah Government was framed in the State, a new era of development has taken place in Jammu and Kashmir. She said the people are the best judges on the work done by the present coalition government.
Sakina said that the bridge on Boh Nallah, which will come up at a cost of Rs.769 lakhs, will connect Boh with D K Marg. She said on completion of this bridge, not only thousands of people will get benefitted but also has been met a long pending demand of the concerned areas.
She said that D K Marg Panchyat Ghar is being constructed at a cost of Rs.20 lakh and till date Rs.3.50 lakh has been booked on this project so far and added that work on Ragdan-Sailkhanan Panchayat Ghar will be started soon and it will be constructed at a cost of Rs.20lakh. She said that the 2.5 km road length road from Khul to Dhankard Ringth is being constructed at a cost of Rs.10 lakh, on which till date 3.50 lakh have been spent on it.
The Minister said that Khul-Gujjarbast road is coming up at a cost Rs.4.0 lakhs. She that Model Village Khul has been been developed at a cost of Rs.1.20 crores with all the latest facilities including common facility centre, rural information centre, children park, play field ,lanes and drains, edge walls and crossings etc.
Sakina said the present Government does not believe in empty slogans, but in practical works and asked the people to compare development works with those, who did nothing during their tenure, except killing innocents. She said that these elements on one side were propagating healing touch, demilitarization, peace with dignity, but were actually killing innocents by anti-youth policy.
The Minister said that presently,Rs. 18 crore worth roads under PMGSY are under execution in her constituency.
Responding to the demands of the area about installing of new electricity poles, HT and LT lines, and alternate line for adequate safe drinking water, the Minister directed the district Officers to pay attention on this demands immediately so that the people may not suffer any more.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed handy gas cylinders under Chief Minister Participatory programme to 25 beneficiaries of Nagam,Gujjar Basti,Boh, Draghdan Sailkhanan etc for attracting the people for protection of forests and plantating in association with local people
On the occasion, District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Jahangir Mir, and other district officers were present at the function.

‘Militant’ killed in Handwara encounter
