The meeting, convened by chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, was attended by . Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Aga Syed Hassan , Bilal Gani Lone, Masroor Abbas, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Musadiq Adil. Shabir told Kashmir Times that he did not participate in the meeting since his suggestion to restructures Hurriyat (M) from two tier to one tier was not considered. He along with some other leaders had walked out of the recent joint session of executive and general councils. Shabir said that he would continue to put forth his view point in the faction for restructuring of the faction and strict action against those leaders who had violated Hurriyat constitution from time to time by saying that UN resolutions are irrelevant. During the meeting, Mirwaiz made afresh appeal to Islamabad and New Delhi to include Hurriyat leadership in the dialogue process. He said that once all the three parties of the dispute would sit together then only a result oriented solution can emerge.. Mirwaiz also said that a constructive approach is needed by the leadership of India and Pakistan for finding a result oriented solution to Kashmir issue. He said Kashmir is not a border dispute between India and Pakistan.“The peace and prosperity of south Asia is dependent on resolution of Kashmir issue. It is imperative for New Delhi and Islamabad to include Kashmiris in the ongoing dialogue process,” he said. Acting on the recommendations of previous executive and general committee meeting, Hurriyat Conference (M) today formed various working groups and committees “to highlight policies and programme of the faction more effectively at the grass root level.” |
