| | Hygiene rules for the juice shops | | | Dear Editor, One month back, surprise raids were conducted against the unscrupulous juice sellers on the roadsides. It seems however, that the practice is still flourishing in many corners of the city. Even the hub of city life, Raghunath Bazar is not excluded. Under the very nose of customers, they fleece them by not displaying the juice machine in open. In this way, they manage to hide the very process of juice-making from them which is the first prerequisite for any juice stall owner. This raises the suspicion of the consumers that something dubious is going on behind the hidden machine. The hygiene aspect is given a go by in this manner and the health of the consumers suffers as a result. The mugs which are used to serve the product are not washed properly with the result that many an illness surfaces after a certain time. It is requested of the authorities to check those stall owners as well, yet to be probed by the authorities who matter. —Rashika, Jammu. |
