| | Blood donation camps at Sant Nirankari Bhawan, Domana, Purkhoo | | | JAMMU, Jul 22: Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated a blood donation camp at Sant Nirankari Bhawan, Domana, Purkhoo organized by PG Department of immune-haematology and Blood Transfusion medicines in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Prevention Control Society. Speaking on the occasion, Sham said that the government was keen to improve the health care facilities in the state by making available well trained and specialist doctors in remotest health institutions. He said the state was fast progressing on the front of health services and the day was not for away when the people even in far off villages could avail specialized consultancy at their doorsteps. He also said the government purchased full-fledged blood donation mobile Van with modern facilities to facilitate the people willing to serve the noble cause. The Minister said that recent 2010-11 report showing substantial decrease in state’s male-female sex ratio was an eye opener and time had come to strictly implement the PC&PNDT Act. He asked the people particularly youths to extend their cooperation in this regard. He said that J&K was the only state which provided 92% health care facilities in public sector. He also said all health institutions were directed to provide free ambulance and medicines to BPL families and senior citizens and poor people. Appreciating the efforts of Sant Nirankari Bhawan, Domana for organizing such type of blood donation camps, Sham said that the government was keen to promote this type of practice particularly in the field of healthcare. He said that government wanted massive participation of private health institutions as well as local organizations in providing better healthcare services like blood donation camp and supplement government efforts in this regard. Among others, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Madhu Kullar, Mission Director NRHM, Dr Yash Paul Sharma, Controller Drugs, Satish Gupta, senior doctors from GMC and zonal incharge Nirankari Mission, Sardar Ajeet Singh, Area Incharge Sansar Chand and Domana Bhawan Incharge (Mukhi), Purshotam Singh were present on the occasion. |
