| | JK Bank conducts Apple project, KCC & FLC progs | | | SRINAGAR, Jul 22: Committed to give boost to agriculture sector and to cover maximum number of farmers under Kissan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, J&K Bank organised awareness-cum-credit counseling camp at Magam in Budgam. Besides, with a view to expand outreach of the Apple Project to more and more apple growers, the Bank also organized awareness meets at villages of Karimabad and Barpora in district Pulwama which were attended by a large number of apple farmers. Cluster Head Budgam Abdul Hamid Khan, Lead District Manager Budgam Mohammad Yaqoob and Head B.U Court Road, Mohammad Aslam besides a good gathering comprising farmers, senior citizens, students etc. were present at the camps in Maagam and Pulwama in which 314 Kissan Credit Cards amounting to Rs 1 Crore were distributed among the beneficiaries. Speaking on the occasion, Cluster Head gave detailed backgrounder for launching schemes like KCC to the beneficiaries and others. He spoke at length about the scheme and urged the audience to reap the benefits of the scheme for enhancing the productivity in agriculture and horticulture sector which in turn shall result in their economic development. The farmers and beneficiaries hailed the pro-active approach of the Bank while processing & sanctioning the KCC in a hassle free manner. The Bank also conducted financial literacy camp in Government Boys Higher secondary school, Pulwama, which was attended by a large number of students, mostly belonging to class 12th and staff of the college. Lead District Manager, Shopian Mohammad Saleem Wani explained the benefits of financial inclusion for banks and the public. He impressed upon the students and staff to establish linkages with the Bank’s Business Units by opening accounts. Earlier, inaugurating the awareness camp, Principal of the school exhorted the students and school staff to start availing benefits of various deposit and loan schemes by opening accounts with the Bank. In the programme, various deposit and advance schemes of banks i.e. No frills SB account, Educational loan, Laptop finance, Housing loan and Car loan schemes were discussed with the participants. At the end, FLCC Facilitator thanked the Principal and staff of the school for their full co-operation in organizing the programme. Meanwhile, Apple growers were given a comparison of the average yield, quality and earnings of the Kashmir apples with that of the other producer countries of the world at the Apple Project awareness meet in Pulwama Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Coordinator, Rashid Ud Din said, “The apple growers of the state can grow economically fast by availing the benefits of the revised Kissan Credit Card scheme of the Bank.” An earnest need was felt for adoption of innovative cultivation and preservation practices to improve the quality and quantity of their fruit crop and also their earnings. Head B.U Murran Adda, Pulwama, Fayaz Ahmad Lone addressed the growers and assured them of quality services and speedy disposal of their KCC proposals within the promised period of 7 days. |
