| | Jamaat asks Muslims to fast, help destitute | | | SRINAGAR, Jul 22 (KNS): Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir has appealed Muslim community to understand the message of Allah, observe fast with full reverence and take due care of the destitute during the holy Ramadhan. “Whatever preference and excellence the month of Ramadhan in the Islamic calendar has, it is only because the Holy Quran has been revealed in it by Allah upon His last messenger (PBUH) as a complete way of life for the entire humanity. It is the basic duty of the Muslim Ummah as a whole and every Muslim in its individual capacity to understand the basic fundamentals and teachings of the book of Allah and profess, practice and propagate the same to those who are ignorant of the same,” read a press statement issued by the Jamaat. “It is the Quran which teaches us how to attain abstinence. For becoming a God-fearing person, he has to know God and it is the Quran only which gives us a clear and perfect knowledge of God. So without knowing Quran one cannot know God as He is,” added the statement. |
