Kapal Mochan temple revived for devotees

SHOPIAN, July 29: After reconstruction of temple at Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan Devgam, Shopian, a two day yaga was held in which hundreds of devotees who came from different parts of valley as well as Jammu participated. Coordination Committee Kapal Mochan Shrine, besides the Kashmiri Pandits, the members of Rajput Biradri of Shopian district also attended the function.
On the occasion, Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi, Swami Vivek Ji of Nagbani Ashram, Kuldeep Raina President Khir Bhawani Manzgam were also present and participated.
The District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Nazir Ahmed Khan, SSP Shopian, Mumtaz Khan and other officers were also present on the occasion. The Yaga and Puranahuti were performed this afternoon and Prasad was also offered to the devotees.
The local residents including members of the majority community were also present on the occasion and they rendered all cooperation to their minority Hindu brethren in holding the function.
On the occasion special prayers were offered for the restoration of peace in the state and it was resolved that the centuries old unity and good will gesture between the two communities will get strengthened.
President Coordination Committee, D N Kitchloo, B L Saraf (retd) District and Session Judge and V S Lahori highlighted the religious significance of the shrine.
