Hideout busted in Poonch

MENDHAR, Aug 3: Security forces claimed to have unearthed a militant hideout in the border district of Poonch on Friday.
It was unearthed in high altitude Salwah area of Poonch district by 37 Rastriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SoG) of police, officials said.
One AK rifle, 12 magazines, 150 rounds of AK ammunition, one Pakistani SIM card, a matrix sheet and one LeT poster was recovered from the hideout, sources said, adding that the suspected area was cordoned off and during search the hideout of militants noticed by the troops was smashed.
Police handout said that the search operation was carried out on the disclosure of a militant supporter Shabir Ahmed of the same village who was working for LeT in the area. He was arrested some days back in case FIR number 73 of 2012 of Police Station Poonch and was a member of the LeT module which was earlier unearthed by District Police Poonch in the month of May-2012 by affecting a huge recovery of arms and ammunition from their possession.
The busting of the hideout has succeeded in derailing the nefarious designs of the ultras and their supporters, handout said.
