Biased system of police-investigation in Geetika Sharma suicide-case?
Dear Editor,
Police usually during a normal course of action, immediately makes a custody-arrest and interrogation of the suspected ones in cases like abetment of suicide, especially when the victim directly names a person in the suicide-note. But it was not so in case of former air-hostess of now-defunct MDLR Airlines, Geetika Sharma suicide-case where an influential Haryana Minister Gopal Goyal Kanda was not immediately arrested despite his being directly named by her in her suicide-note. Otherwise also circumstantial evidences, controversial past history of the rich accused and statements of Geetika Sharma's neighbours were sufficient enough to get him immediately arrested.
It is a matter of shame and concern that Gopal Goyal Kanda continued getting advantage of our highly defective black-mailing political system where he could not be earlier removed from Haryana ministry despite several controversies involving him, only because Hudda-government could be toppled by withdrawal of support from independent MLAs led by Gopal Goyal Kanda. Such black-mail by individual MLAs can and must be abolished by electing Chief Minister by secret and compulsory votes of all MLAs through Electronic Voting Machines on nominations signed by atleast 34-percent MLAs. Such an elected Chief Minister may only be removed by a no-confidence motion passed in the same manner but with compulsion to name alternate leader in the same motion.
