2 minors detained for theft

JAMMU, Aug 17: Police claimed to have worked out a theft case with the arresting of two minors and recovered Rs 84,000 from their possession in New Plot area of Jammu City.
Police spokesman said that on August 17, Ashok Aggarwal son of Jugal Kishore resident of 84 New Plot Jammu running Aggarwal Cement and Iron store at New Plot reported at Police Post Sarwal that some unknown thieves have stolen cash Rs 84000 from the drawers of his table in the office by using duplicate keys.
Upon this, a case FIR number 82 of 2012 under section 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police team headed by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma and assisted by In-charge Police Post Sarwal Sub Inspector Nazir Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO City West and SP City North swung into action and after developing leads in to the case through CCTV footage of the camera installed in the office of the complainant. The cops succeeded in arresting one nine-year-old and a six-year-old boy.
Police recovered lead to the recovery of the key used in the theft and the entire amount that was stolen has also been recovered upon the instance of the arrested thieves.
It was learnt that these two boys earlier also stole Rs 25,000 from the same office after which the owner installed CCTV Cameras. Today after theft the owner scanned the CCTV footage and managed to identify the thieves. He informed police and the cops arrested the duo.
