MUMBAI, Apr 15: Raza Hasan (Pakistan) is not the only international cricketer involved in cocaine scandal.
The 22-year-old slow left arm bowler has been tested positive for cocaine in a dope test.
Speaking exclusveily over his mobile from Sialkot, he said, "I had terrible pain in my waist and to get rid of this pain, the same (cocaine) was consumed".
"The substance was present in the medicine and was unknowingly used by me".
"It has appeared in the first urine sample but I am hopeful of being cleared in the second sample, for which I am waiting the further instructions by the PCB doctor (Sohail Saleem) to deliver", he added.
In his earlier days, Raza was coached by former Pakistani batsman, Ijaz Ahmed.
Speaking exclusively from Pakistan, he says, "Raza is (was) considered to be the best bowler this country has ever produced. He has (had) a potential and his future is (was) bright".
"I fail to understand why he involved in this...He should have known what medicines he is consuming. In spite of these players are given oral briefings and written materials, they commit mistakes".
"Most of the young players come from a mediocre family and it is sad to see them losing their talent once fame and money come".
Dr. Mohammad Jameel, his coach at the National Bank of Pakistan is waiting to hear from the PCB or the bowler himself. "We have heard about his name in drugs. So far no information from the Board or the player is received. We await further update on this", he said exclusveily from Lahore.
Raza Hasan has played one ODI and ten Twenty20 matches for his nation.
