Govt keen to develop all border areas: Chib

JAMMU, Sep 6 Government was keen to develop all border and far-flung areas at par with the urban centres, Minister for Medical and Technical Education, R S Chib said today.
"The coalition government was keen to develop all border and far-flung areas at par with the urban centres with special focus on the creation of infrastructure under PHE, education, health and other vital sectors", Chib said while chairing a meeting here to review the pace on various works being executed by these departments at R S Pura belt of Jammu.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, massive development have been witnessed in the state during the last three-and-half-a-year period, particularly in rural and far-off pockets. Reviewing the implementation of flagship development schemes, the minister said that the schemes launched by state and centre governments were a bone for improving the socio-economic condition.
The main focus was being laid on the improvement of basic amenities by creating durable infrastructure, he said and called upon the officers to make extra efforts to ensure effective implementation of the poverty alleviation schemes so that the benefits reach to the targeted lot.
