Army mela concludes at Naoshera

JAMMU, Sep 30: The two day long Army Mela organized by the ‘Ace of Spades’ Division at Naoshera concluded today
Earlier it was inaugurated on September 19 , the event portrayed a number of activities. The event was attended by NN Vohra, Governor , and Usha Vohra, as Chief guests, Lt Gen KT Parnaik, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, Lt Gen AS Nandal, GOC, White Knight Corps, Maj Gen KH Singh, GOC, ‘Ace of Spades’ Division and a number of civil dignitaries.
The main attractions of the Mela were Para Jumping and Para motor display, Horse and Dog Show, Military Band Display, Gatka by Sikh soldiers, Naga Dance, Khukri Dance, Bhangra and Cultural programme by the School children of Naoshera region. The Mela also provided a platform for the Army to address the problems of the veterans soldiers. Information stalls like Pension Adalat, Rajya/Kendriya Sainik Board, Resettlement, Medical Camp, Housing Scheme, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme had been established for redressal of the grievances.
The civil population, especially the youth were thrilled at the sight of breath taking dare devil shows. Display of military might in terms of weapons and equipment were special attractions for the young men, who seemed convincingly motivated and expressed their desire to wear the uniform.
