A girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at her residence today.
Identified as Jyoti Devi, 14, daughter of Shamsher Chand of Samba, she consumed poisonous substance at her residence today. The family members noticed her unconscious in the house and they shifted her to DH Samba. She was referred to GMC hospital where her condition continued to deteriorate and she died later.
In another incident Jyoti Devi, 18, of Badrore Gho Brahamana committed suicide in similar manner.
Cause behind the provocations was not yet ascertained.
The bodies after autopsy were handed over to the respective family members for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPc have been initiated by the police.
Meanwhile reports from Poonch said that a middle aged woman today made abortive bid by consuming poisonous substance at Gursai village of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district today.
Police said that Ruksana, wife of Akhter Hussain resident of Gursai village today made abortive bid by consuming poisonous substance at her house. Her kin observed her unconscious and immediately shifted her to Sub District Hospital Mendhar where doctors washed her stomach. Her condition was serious when reports last came in. |
