| | Stop torturing us mentally: Affected families to army | | Pathribal fake encounter | | SRINAGAR, Oct 12: The affected families of Pathribal fake encounter have expressed disappointment over the “negative response of army towards their demands.” They expressed the disappointment a day after army had summoned them through chief judicial magistrate Anantnag to appear in the court martial proceedings against five accused army personnel at Nagrota. “Issuing summons again to us is like rubbing salt to our injuries. We have already made it clear that we will not participate in any court martial trial at Nagrota. We fail to understand as to what is the point in issuing summons to us frequently. The pain that the army inflicted on us by killing our dear ones is yet to ease but now they are adding to our pain by summoning our ailing and aged mothers to their court far away from our homes.” Abdul Rashid Khan, son of one of the victims, Jumma Khan, said that they do not expect any justice from those who killed their dear ones. “We know appearing in army court will fetch us nothing. Army cannot punish its own men but will try to protect them. And after all what can you expect from those who ask the dead to depose,” he said. He said the negative response of the army in paying heed to their demands has clearly exposed its intentions. “There is no question of attending the army court even if they drag us. We appeal them to stop issuing summons to us as it subjects us to mental torture. Now we have left everything to Almighty Allah. He (God) is the only one to do justice with us,” Rashid said. |
