Burglars loot petrol pump, decamp with Rs 80,000 in Rehari

JAMMU, Jun 9: A group of seven burglars on Saturday night looted a petrol-pump at B C Road and decamped with Rs 80,000 after injuring the petrol filling workers with base ball bats and other sharp-edged weapons.

According to employees of petrol pump, a group of seven burglars well equipped with baseball bats last night entered the petrol pump at around 10.00 PM and assaulted the petrol filling workers and other employees on duty that time.

“Within no time, they injured the petrol filling workers and other employees on duty that time and looted Rs 80, 000 from pump and decamped with the amount,” informed the cashier of the petrol pump.

The injured petrol pump employees were immediately shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital, Jammu.

The injured have been identified as Dinesh Singh, 35, son of Subhash Singh, Dalip, 20, son of Subhash and Ravinder Kumar, 26, son of Manda Ram, all residents of Uttar Pradesh, presently putting up at Shakti Nagar.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged with the Rehari Police Post.
