JAMMU, Oct 22: The final of Mega Final of All India Devotional Song Competition (AIDSC) 2012, will be held on October 23, 2012 in the premises of Yog Ashram Complex Katra and the entry upon this occasion will be free to all.

This was informed by Chairman AIDSC, Rakesh Wazir during a press conference held here today. He said that Navratra Festival’s All India Devotional Song Competition is organized jointly by Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board, J&K Tourism in association with active support of Zee News, Zee Jagran , Shradha Mh-one, Disha Channel , Big 92.7 FM, J&K Bank, R R Arts a film and music company, Nidesh builder Jammu, Jai Mata Di Sewa Sangh, K C Residency, Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra, District Administration, under the overall supervision of Navratra Festival Committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu.

The Devotional Song competition started 16 years back with the main aim to promote and provide platform to the singers from all over the India in the holy township of the Katra, besides promotion of the tourism in J&K.

The judge during the mega final will be Ganesh Jain Managing Director Venus Records and Tapes Ltd., Ramesh Taurani Managing Director Tips Industries , Pritam Music Director, Madhur Bhandarkar Producer/Director and national award winner, Vikas Mohan Trade Analyst and Barkha Arora CEO Zee Jagran had remained associated with, from last sometime however, film maker Ashok Pandit has joined this year.

“The live telecast of the programme will be available to the world on the Shradha Mh-one and Disha Channels” he added.

This All India Devotional Song Competition have contributed a lot and had given platform to many singers in the film industry including Himani Kapoor, Mool Raj Paramjeet Singh, Naveen Punjabi, Rajan Gill, Sonali Dogra, Reeta Khadyal, Ravi Kumar, Anjusha etc. are from this competition. Himani Kapoor has sung in the films like Dil Diya Hai, Chingari, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye.

The first prize of this competition is gold worth Rs one lakh besides recording contract with Venus Records and Tapes Ltd., besides this many other prizes and contracts from Disha Cannel, Zee News, Zee Jagran etc. and this provision is going since 1999.
