| | Vinoo Mankad Trophy: Delhi routs J&K , make it to knockout stage | | | CHANDIGARH, Oct 29 :Delhi routed Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association by seven wickets in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy here. In the process Delhi garnered five points, including a bonus, and took their tally to 18 to head the points table in the North Zone League. Himachal defeated Haryana by 92 runs and obtained five points, including a bonus, and took their points tally to 13. They finished runners-up in the league table and pip Punjab to the post, who had finished their league with 10 points. After winning the toss and electing to bat first in PCA Stadium in Mohali, JKCA scored 194 for 9 in 50 overs. They were helped in their cause by Ahmed Banday (56), Mohd. Hazik (31) and Siddharth Mangotra (38). For DDCA Aakarshit Gomel (2 for 34), Shivam Sharma (2 for 45) and Nitish Rana (2 for 16) were the main wicket takers. Replying, Delhi chased the target of 195 runs in 39.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Bharat Gupta (28), Nipun Malhotra (21), Hardik Pahwa (22), Nitish Rana (80 not out) and Aakarshit Gomel (31 not out) were the main run getters for Delhi. For JKCA Aaqib Nazir (1 for 25) and Paras Sharma (1 for 34) were the most successful bowlers. In the second match played at GMSSS ground in Sector 26 Haryana won the toss and elected to field first. Himachal scored 275 for 5 in 50 overs. A J Dhariwal (28), P S Khanduri (39), N T Sharma (58), A R Kalsi (35), A K Bains (46), S C Jamwal (34 not out and S K Minhas (20 not out) were the main run getters for Himachal. For Haryana Waseem Mohd (3 for 17) was the most successful bowler. Replying Haryana were bundled out for 183 in 49.1 overs. They were helped in their cause by A R Rana (56), Shiva Yadav (30) and Poonish Mehta (20), V P Kumar (3 for 35) and A P Sharma (2 for 23) were the main wicket takers for Himachal. |
