Dear Editor,

Due to the scams and scandals committed by the men at high chairs, the country, has so far suffered monumental loss of Rs 38,00,00,00,000. There is a long list but Coalgate, Wakf land in Karnataka, NRHM in UP, 2G Spectrum, Foodgrain scam, Delhi Airport scam, Commonwealth games, ISRO scam, Madhu Koda scam in Jharkhand, Fodder scam, Satyam scam, Land dole scam in Andhra Pradesh, Fake stamp paper case etc are some of the recent instances causing monumental losses to the nation. In all these scams and scandals, men at the high places were involved.

Besides, several scandals in defence forces have also been reported in the media, NDA, UPA or any other amalgamation that rules in the States, implementing anti-people policies. Working class policies guided by the globalization and the economic reforms floated by the World Trade Organization are there to trap the developing world, besides the under-developed nations by the supreme superpower and other developed countries.

Gap between rich and the poor is widening rapidly. Per capita income has risen astronomically whereas, on the other hand, Planning Commission of India holds that those who earn Rs 32 in urban and Rs 28 in the rural areas, are above the poverty line. Can we the laymen afford to ask about the people whose per capita income on an average is lesser than that?

Foreign Direct Investment in the Retail sector is pushing crores of people engaged as petty shopkeepers, ‘Rehri’ and ‘Khokhawalas’ to become jobless as Walmarts’, are coming to sell all consumer and other goods at cheaper rates which the former cannot afford to measure up to for their survival in the market. Men like Stalin and Mao who led Communist Revolution in major parts of the world but nowadays the rulers are ruining the destiny of the people. On the completion of three years of UPA2 rule, Rs 28,95,503 were spent on serving dinner to 375 people at the residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The rulers claim that FDI in the Retail sector will benefit the farmers and the ‘Aam admi’ for which they have to wait for some time. This appears to be illusionary, just to hoodwink the people.
