| | Excise Deptt organizes workshop at RS Pura | | | JAMMU, Nov 15: On the direction of Minister of Finance Abdul Rahim Rather and Finance Commissioner Mohammad Iqbal Khanday, the Excise Department in collaboration with Women Studies Centre Jammu under the supervision of its Commissioner Veneeta Gupta today organized a workshop on “Curb of menace of distillation of illicit liquor by alternate way and means of livelihood” at R S Pura.
According to a statement, the workshop was organised by Deputy Excise Commissioner Anuradha Gupta in which around fifty women participated in the workshop were guided and motivated not to indulge in the distillation of illicit liquor which is unlawful and harms to their families and the society they were provided. The experts also guided the women about the other ways for finding other source of income to live with honour and dignity in the society and it was decided in the workshop to different self help groups would be constituted and training for the same should be provided to them.
Those who were present on the occasion included Director Department of life long learning Prof. Poonam Dhawan, faculty members including Dr. Bharati, Inspector Renu Sharma, ETO G. L Sharma and Pallvi Sachdeva. |
