| | Couple among 3 killed in road mishaps | | | JAMMU, Nov 15: Three persons including a newly married couple died in two separate road mishaps in Samba and Jammu districts today. Police said that a newly wedded couple died in motorbike accident at Mansar today. The deceased have been identified as Kishore Kumar and his wife Sarita Devi both residents of Mansar. Police said that the couple was on way from Mansar to Udhampur on motorbike when it skidded off the road and fell into a gorge this afternoon near Darsu. The duo died on the spot while the bodies were shifted to SDH Majalta where after autopsy the bodies were handed over to family members for last rites. They were married three months back, family sources added. In Jammu, a woman was killed and her son was injured when a motorcycle, on which they were riding, was hit by an unknown truck in Greater Kailash area on city outskirts, last night. The deceased has been identified as Lalita Devi, 38, wife of Bodh Raj resident of Narwal, while her injured son has been identified as Vikram Rajwal. Lalita Devi, 38, was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital with serious wounds and doctors declared her as brought dead, police said. Her injured son was undergoing treatment, police said, adding that his condition was said to be improving. The trucker escaped from the spot alongwith the vehicle. Police has registered a case in this connection and launched a hunt to nab the erring trucker. |
