Announces ambulance for Pukharni,Katal hospitals

NOWSHERA, July 3:MLC Ravinder Sharma, General Secretary & Spokesperson PCC advocated for promoting pilgrim tourism potential of the area and accelerating developmental activities in the border and remote pockets.

Sharma visited the last villages in Nowshera Tehsil like Pukharni, Drunigala and Challan and also paid obeisance at historical temple of Veer-Bhadeshwar (Pir-Bhadesar) near LoC and listen to the problems of people. This historical temple was constructed by Raja Kanishka and one of the most ancient temples in the state. The temple and devotees are taken care by Army authorities only but needs to be developed by the government. Similarly, an adjoining Guru-Ki-Bowli also needs government attention in view of its religious and historical importance.

Addressing meetings, Sharma assured the people to seek promotion of pilgrim tourism to develop the religious places of importance to create facilities and attract pilgrims to the area for economic boosts. He said that people residing near LoC need special attention of the government in the matter of development, job opportunity and thrust on agricultural related economic activities as well as health, education, water and power facilities. He regretted that a vast stretch of the area is without a 10+2 school as a result the people are facing great hardships. He appraised the people about the efforts of the government to uplift minority communities under Prime Minister’s programme based on the recommendations of Justice Sachhar Committee as a result Nowshera block will get Rs 10 crore for upliftment of minority community areas. He also assured to take up their demand for water and power problem in the area.

Sharma announced to provide funds for providing ambulance to Sub Centr at Pukharni and also at Katali in Bimblyas Panchayat.

Several prominent leaders and workers form other parties joined Congress party before Sharma. Prominent leaders who joined include S/Shri Darshan Choudhary, Shafaqat Hussian and Javid Choudhary.

Prominent local Congress leaders who accompanied include Harbans Lal Bakshi-President BCC Nowshera, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ch Gulshed Ahmed, Isher Singh, Jitinder Singh Chib, Charan Singh, Ch Wali Mohammad, Sarpanchs Paramjit Singh, Ch Khaleel Ahmed, Vijay Choudhary, Rajinder Singh, Sat Pal Sharma, besides Sub Badri Nath, Sansar Chand-Panch, Dr Farooq Choudhary and Haji Ghulam Hassan.
