| | Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup to be an annual feature: Dilbag | | Vishal Cricket Club lifts title trophy | | Jammu, Nov 16: Scripting a convincing four wickets win over JKP XI , Vishal Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of the Eid-Diwali Milan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium here today.
The tournament in which 12 teams participated was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with Simula Software, under the overall supervision of IGP,Jammu.
Earlier, Wining the toss and batting first ,JKP XI managed to score a modest total of 98 runs in 17.5 overs, courtesy disciplined bowling show by Vishal Club bowlers, who bowled with nagging line and teasing length. Farooq and Jatin were the main contributors with 16 and 15 runs respectively.For Vishal Club Shashu scalped 3 wickets, while Sahil Bhalwal picket two and Bansi lal claimed 1 wicket.
In reply , Vishal Cricket Club chased the target in 19.1 overs , losing 6 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Avinash Jamwal was the top scorer with 24 runs, while Ravi Pandita and Sahil Bhalwal contributed 14 and 13 runs respectfully.
For JKP XI , Dilbag bagged 3 wickets while Shamsher and Sunil shared 1 wicket each.
Sahil Bhalwal of Vishal Cricket Club was declared as man of the match, while Atul Sharma of Simula XI was adjudged best batsman of the tournament. Vishwajeet Singh and Pavit Singh Ishar of Ishar Cricket Club were named as joint winners for best bowlers trophy.
Bansi lal of Vishal Cricket Club was declared most valuable player of the tournament for scoring 246 runs and taking 11 wickets in the tournament, while Rajesh Gill Skipper of JKP XI was adjudged man of the series for scoring 265 runs and scalping 12 wickets. The final and other matches were officiated by Sudhir Singh,JD Singh, Harbinder Singh, Sadiq Hussain, Madan , Yogesh Sharma and Suhail.
Dilbag Singh was Chief Guest on the valedictory function while C. Punchog DIG IRP and JP Singh DIG Jammu were the Guests of Honour. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Parbhat Singh SSP,Jammu, Sham Sunder SSP APCR,SP South Rajeshwar Singh,SP North JS Johar,SP Headquarter Shalinder Singh SO to IGP Jammu Ramesh Angral, Vinay Gupta, Rakesh Koul, Vivek Sharma, Satwant Singh, Sandeep Singh Sunny,David Mattoo, Raj Kumar.
In his address, IGP Jammu while lavishing praise for the organizers for conducting the event smoothly and successfully, declared that the event will be an annual feature.
The Chief Guest also announced prizes for the upcoming singers and music party for their splendid show on the occasion.IGP Jammu alongwith other dignitaries had an interaction session with the players and the technical staff of the tournament on the occasion.
Earlier, Alok Puri IGP M. D.Police Housing inaugurated the final match by having the toss of coin. He was also introduced with the players of both the teams.
The tournament was being organized by J&K Police & Simula Software. Ishar Sports, Atman Sports , Simula Sports & JKP are the official sponsors. While DIG Jammu J.P.Singh, S.O. to IGP Jammu Ramesh Angral, Hilal Rather M.D.Simula Software and Rajesh Dhar are the members of the organizing team while Former Ranji trophy player, Rajesh Gill is organizing secretary of the tournament and is being organized under the overall supervision of IGP Sh.
