| | Vacuum in M’rashtra politics | | | Dear Editor, In the death of Bal Thackeray, the country has lost a politician who influenced the politics across India in an unthinkable way with his staunch ideology. It is indeed a big and irreparable loss in Maharashtra politics. Political allies from Maharashtra in union government, mainly NCP, should persuade the government for giving respect and regard to the departed leader as per his stature. He never allowed differences of ideology to hurt personal friendship even in Pakistan. This is why prominent Pakistanis like cricketer Javed Miyandad prayed for his speedy recovery. Whatever was his ideology, he was the only leader who behaved similarly in public and private. Now all eyes would be on Raj Thackeray and Udhav Thackeray who can pay real tribute to their departed family-head by getting united leadership. —Subhash Chandra Agrawal, 1775, Kucha Lattushah, Dariba, Delhi. |
