| | Taliban and law of Church in Ireland | | | Dear Editor, It refers to on-going discussion on unfortunate ‘murder’ of the Indian dentist Savita in Ireland because of fundamentalist law of Church prevailing at Ireland did not allow abortion even though it was necessary to save Savita’s life. It is significant that those representing Church on panel-discussions on Indian TV channels are advocating for the fundamentalist law in Ireland on abortion. It tends to conclude that fundamentalists not only exist in form of Talibans for defaming Islam, even hard-core Catholic Christians are doing disservice to humanity by having such strict rules like exist in Ireland for not allowing abortion even at cost of life of the affected woman. —Subash Chandra Agrawal. 1775 Kucha Lattushah, Dariba, Chandni Chowk, Delhi. |
