J&K Bank sanctions 10000 KCCs in Ganderbal
SRINAGAR, Nov 17: J&K Bank distributed 350 Kissan Credit Cards (KCC) to the farmers at a KCC mela in Gund, Kangan. So far J&K Bank has sanctioned around Rs.20 crores through more than ten thousand KCCs issued in favour of the farmers in Ganderbal district.

The KCCs were handed over to the farmers by Itrat Hussain Rafiqui, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, who presided over the function as chief guest in presence of J&K Bank cluster head, Mohammad Amin Khan. Those present on the occasion included, District Social Welfare Officer Ganderbal, Qazi Irfan, Head, J&K Bank B/U Gund, Hilal Ahmad, SHO Gund and some panches. Besides huge number of farmers and customers of the bank were present on the occasion.

Itrat Hussain, in his presidential address, hailed J&K Bank’s role in taking banking facilities to the doorsteps of people. “ Be it ATM network, hassle-free finance to farmers, disbursal of NREGA payments and other social security benefits, J&K Bank has revolutionised the concept of ‘banking at doorsteps’ in a topographically and geographically difficult and distinct state like J&K”, he said.

Urging farmers to avail KCC facility, Itrat stressed that KCC is a credit facility that farmers can avail at will. “It helps you meet your emergency farming requirements like purchase of fertilizers, seeds, pesticides etc” he added.

Earlier, the cluster head, Mohammad Amin Khan described KCC scheme as a relief and comfort to the farmer community “especially in times of emmergency”.

Notably, the scheme comes with a farmer friendly feature of no guarantee upto the limit of Rs.25000/-. “And if your KCC transactions are smooth, you will be charged a meager 4% net interest on your credit “, Khan informed the gathering.

Khan while thanking customers for the trust which they have reposed in the bank said, “Your trust and confidence in J&K Bank is what guides us to serve you in all your financial matters. We have devised customized products as per your various requirements to ensure economic empowerment through creative economic support and intervention”. He maintained that Bank was committed to liberally finance the agriculture sector to exploit the potential of state’s land resources.
