| | MIER celebrates National Education Day | | | JAMMU, Nov 19: MIER College of Education organized an Article Writing Competition on the topic ‘Maulana Abul Kalam Azad: Contribution to Education’ in connection with National Education Day here today. Around 32 students of B.Ed , M.Ed And B.Ed special education participated in the contest. The contest was organized by the Co-Curricular committee of the college with the aim of making the youth realize the contributions of the great educationist, Maulana Azad to the present education system of India. The judges for the competition were Monika Marwaha (Lecturer, B.Ed Dept. MIER College of Education) Manju Wali (Senior Teacher, Model Academy), Arpana (Lecturer, B.Ed Dept.MIER College of Education).The first, second and third prizes were bagged by Sakshi Thakur (M.Ed), Rimpy Charak (M.Ed) and Kuldeep Singh (B.Ed) respectively. Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER said that this is an important occasion for all those related to education. He also highlighted the role of Maulana Azad whose role in nurturing of education in India has been amazing. Education is the single largest force that is binding our society and that we as teacher educators and teacher trainees should pledge that we would dedicate ourselves to the growth and development of education. He further impressed upon the teacher trainees to act as instruments of enlightenment and transformation in the society. Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER felicitated the prize winners and distributed certificates among them. She lauded the efforts of the co-curricular activities unit of the college for organizing such an intellectually stimulating activity. The contest was conducted under the able guidance of Mrs. Komal sharma, Convener CCA committee. |
