| | Inter School Symposium at Udhampur | | | UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: Sapna Sharma, a student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur was adjudged best speaker under senior category in an inter- school symposium on the topic, “Youth and Communal Harmony”, organized in the premises of GGHSS Udhampur here today. The symposium was organized by District Information Centre Udhampur in collaboration with Youth service and Sports department in connection with the ongoing week long campaign on Communal Harmony and National Integration in the district. As many as 18 students drawn from various school including GHSS (Girls), Udhampur, GHSS (Boys), Udhampur, GHS (Girls), Udhampur, GHS, Battalballian, and City Middle School, Udhampur, participated in the contest under Senior and Junior categories and put their serious view on the topic. District Education Planning Officer, Udhampur, Ved Parkash was the chief guest of the occasion. Safeer Hussain of Government Higher Secondary School Boys, Udhampur and Vagisha of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur stood 2nd and 3rd respectively. Similarly, Vanishka, student of GGHSS,Udhampur, Jyoti Devi of GHSS Udhampur and Kamini Kumari of Govt. Central Middle School Udhampur Secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd Positions in Junior category. Speaking on the occasion Ved Parkesh threw light on topic and appreciated the efforts of Information Department to hold such contest in the educational institutions for fostering Communal Harmony, National Integration and Fraternity . Information Department also distributed prizes and certificates among the participants of the contest. District Youth Service and Sports officer, Sukdev Singh, Principal of the host school, Rashpal Singh, District Youth Coordinator (NYK), Sayed Sajad, student and staff member were also present on the occasion. |
