| | Observer reviews progress of Electoral Summary Revision | | | UDHAMPUR, Nov 20:Commissioner, Secretary to Government, Agriculture Production Department, Shaleen Kabra who is also the Roll Observer, last evening visited Udhampur district headquarters to inspect the ongoing Summery Revision of Electoral Rolls and to discuss with the political parties regarding their cooperation in the current summery revision.
The District Election Officer briefed in detail the revision programme already chalked out in the district and presented the details of claims and objections received in the district besides claims and objections scanned and uploaded on the ECI website till date.
The District Election Officer also raised the issue of duplicate electors and requested for the provision of software which is being developed by the NIC state unit so that de-duplication can be done.
During the meeting, the representatives of various political parties raised the issue of error in Hindi Electoral Roll and demanded the correction of the same. Responding to the demand, the observer stated that the issue would be taken up with the Election Commission of India in this regard. |
