| | CUK to rope in EdCIL for preparing campus Master Plan | | | SRINAGAR, Nov 20: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has decided to engage Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL) for framing the Master Plan of its upcoming Campus at Ganderbal by holding national level competition of architects. To discuss the modalities about preparation of Master Plan for the campus of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at its designated site in Ganderbal district, the University officials held a threadbare meeting with Chief General Manager (CGM) Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL) here on Tuesday. EdCIL offers consultancy and technical services in different areas of Education and Human Resource Development not only in the country, but also on global basis. During the meeting, which was chaired by the CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abdul Wahid, CGM EdCIL, I. S. Sodhi gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the procedures to be adopted during the framing of the Master Plan. He presented a blueprint for the preparation of the Plan and construction of buildings under the first phase of the campus construction. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abdul Wahid presented the vision of the University, which he said, should be incorporated in the Master Plan. He underscored the need for preparing the Master Plan keeping in view the cultural and traditional sensitivities of the Kashmir. He said the designs should be environment friendly. Reputed architects would be roped in to design the building structures and the facilities in upcoming campus would be state-of-the-art, he added. |
