Lack of accountability
ERA, NBCC too should be brought under PSGA
ActIT Jammu, Projects, Java,, C# Training Jammu

The state High Court’s directive to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) to remain present in the court in the next hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against messy road spectre and frequent traffic jams in the winter capital city on account of digging of roads, lanes and by-lanes has enthused many. The projects taken up by ERA and some other agencies for improvement of sewerage system have so far consumed crores of rupees yet there are still no signs of projects reaching near completion. The deadline for the completion of projects keeps on lingering for one reason or the other including the paucity of funds and as a consequence, majority of the roads, lanes and by lanes present literally a ravaged look. This also hinders smooth traffic flow across the city thus causing innumerable problems to the common masses. Economic Reconstruction Agency is one among those agencies which have literally made the lives of people hell for their slapdash approach towards most of the projects underway in and around the city for the past five years. In fact it is the lack of accountability which has seen the situation moving from bad to worse. The agency despite swallowing huge amount of funds has not been able to complete majority of the projects so far even after the lapse of their extended deadlines and this definitely calls for immediate government attention which claims to be committed for efficient public services delivery mechanism and perhaps a thorough probe also. The services by the Agency should be brought under the purview of the Act pertaining to guaranteed public service delivery. The direction of the State High Court in response to the PIL has certainly raised hopes among all those who desire that accountability should be fixed in case of similar ambitious projects if they’re not completed well in time despite devouring thousands of crores out of public exchequer.
