| | Slathia calls upon panches to ensure victory of coalition candidates | | | SAMBA, Nov 24 : Minister of Industry and Commerce Surjeet Singh Salathia today appealed Panches and Sarpanches to come in large numbers and ensure victory of coalition candidates Dr. Shehnaz Ganai of NC and Sham Lal Bhagat of Congress in ensuing MLC elections by casting their valuable votes to them. He was addressing a gathering of hundreds of Panches, Sarpanches and party workers at Samba, which was organized by Senior NC Leader from Samba, Satwant Kaur Dogra. Salathia said that coalition government led by Omar Abdullah will grow further in the state to realize the goal of development, peace and prosperity of the entire state. He said that government has taken certain landmark initiatives and holding of Panchayat Elections after 30 years is one of the greatest achievements besides implementation of Public Service Gurantee Act, Constitution of State Information Commission under RTI, reconstitution of Accountability Commission, universalization of third party monitoring and e-governess besides strengthening various institutions to bring about transparency in system. MLC Ajay Sadotra while addressing the gathering said that government held panchayat elections to make grass root level public representatives powerful and effective Panchayat Raj in the state and added that success of coalition is the success of Panchayat Raj. He cautioned Panches & Sarpanches about the false propaganda of the opposition against the coalition government and appealed them to strengthen the hands of Coalition candidates & ensure their victory. Both Coalition candidates Dr. Sehnaz Ganai and Sham Lal Bhagat said that after three decades the Panchayats would get their representation in the Upper House and added that they would highlight the issues of Sarpanches & Panches and raise their voice for fully empowering the Panchayats and ensures the electorates to fight for their rights. Earlier Senior NC Leader Satwant Kaur Dogra, welcomed Panches , Sarpanches and said that NC & Congress are tied in an ideiological bond, which is for the welfare of the people of the state to keep at way communial forces who has always tried to divide the state on regional, religious & ethnic consideration and urged them to caste their valuable vote in favour of coalition candidates.
