| | RJSP urges govt to fix timing of gun shops | | | JAMMU, Nov 24: Welcoming the decision taken by the civil administration and the police at the highest level in the backdrop of grenade blast at a wine shop at Narwal recently, to fix the timings of opening of wine shops in Jammu from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm, Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party (RKSP) has expressed concern over no restriction of timings for the gun shops. Addressing a media conference here today, Tanveer Hussain Babzada President RKSP has said that there are 39 gun shops at Shiv Market opposite Railway Station Jammu alone. These remain open in the morning from 5:00 am up to 12:00pm. Their remaining open till late at night is highly dangerous from security point of view. Stating that over 2.5 lakh Vaishno Devi pilgrims come to Railway Station daily while other 2 lakh people throng the area daily, and the entire area remains crowded day and night, Babzada demanded that the timings of running of gun shops in the area should be restricted and the same should not be allowed to keep open after dusk. He appealed to the administration and police to keep strict vigil at these shops and ensure that the same are closed before dusk, to avoid any mishap. |
