1 dies, 8 injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, Oct 1: One person died and eight others were injured in different road accidents across the valley on Monday.

Police said an unidentified vehicle hit and injured Mohammad Shafi Raina son of Abdul Gani Raina resident of Magraypora, Achabal near Railway crossing, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowgam. The injured was shifted to SMHS hospital, Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

“A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03/5560 hit and injured Beenish Gulzar age 13 years son of Gulzar Ahmad Decha resident Dessu, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kokernag Anantnag. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.”, the statement added.

A Maruti car bearing registration number JK01E/3207 hit and injured a Hilal Ahmad Lone son of Mohammad Subhan Lone resident of Brameri, in the jurisdiction of police station Kupwara. The Injured was shifted to Hospital for treatment.

In another accident, a Tata Sumo hit and injured a girl Bilkeesa Mushtaq age 12 years daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone resident of Udipora at Vodipora, in the jurisdiction of police station Kralgund. The injured girl was shifted to the hospital for treatment. Kralgund Police has registered a case in this regard.

An Auto bearing registration number CH-09823 hit and injured Abdul Gani Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Lirrow, Kulgam, under the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam. The injured was shifted to Hospital for treatment.

A Maruti Van bearing Registration Number JK01B/3846 hit and injured Ali Mohammad Wani Son of Ghulam Mohammad Resident of Seel, Beerwah near JVC hospital, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Parimpora. The injured was shifted to Hospital for treatment.

A tipper bearing Number JK01M collided with a Maruti car bearing Number JK04/0877 at Bemina, under the jurisdiction of Police Parimpora, resulting in injuries to 03 persons boarded in Maruti car. All the injured were shifted to Hospital for treatment.
